I have been trying to look at this COVID-19 pandemic through the eyes of a higher perspective. With my beliefs, I do think that we agree to participate in these global events as they play out to some extent. We may not recognize what that reason is at this moment but there are reasons for learning and growth that occur from this kind of situation.
I think that the easiest example of why we would plan for something like this would be for the environmental benefits. I have seen clickbait articles that state that dolphins are showing up in the canals or that the hole in the ozone layer is the smallest it has ever been. While it is hard to decern what is true or false from this, it does bring up an interesting point. There are far fewer resources being used because we are staying at home.
Do I think that these two weeks home are enough to heal our environmental factors? No, I don’t. However, I think if we did all decide for a global reason to inflict this plague upon us, this is a good reason we did so. This is going to have lingering impacts that will go on for a lot longer amount of time than the actual virus itself. The hard part of this is it may mean the loss of jobs for many people. It will hurt the economy which will keep businesses from growing or new businesses to begin. On the flip side, the benefits are that businesses will learn how to operate in a way that allows greater flexibility. Maybe more companies will allow their workers to work remotely or they will find ways to make it more convenient to reach their target audience.
I think the world has the potential to grow in such a positive direction because of this pandemic. If we keep our minds on the positive, we can help manifest this better world that we wish to live in.
