Crystals

Crystal healing properties is as metaphysical as it gets. When it comes to crystals, I know that my past self would be perplexed to learn that he would one day believe in the power of crystals.

What I find interesting is that it ties together with this belief that we have always known what we ‘know’. When I was in fourth grade I remember being very connected to crystals. I was very intrigued by them and liked collecting them too. I think I recognized that crystals were familiar to me in some sense when I was younger because I knew that they were important.

But why are they important? Do I believe that a red crystal will help you heal in a specific way because they are red? Well, yes and no. The answer is always that we are creators. We decide that the crystal will heal us, not the other way around. If we do not decide that this crystal will heal, then it won’t. Is it possible that if I gave you a healing crystal that it would be able to heal you? Yes, because I the creator decided that it would heal you and my belief to heal you may have been stronger than your belief to resist it.

I think it is easy to see the power of belief in many things. An obvious example is with placebo effects. I once knew someone that told me they loved going to the Catholic Church in other countries because it really showed a space where people of different backgrounds come together in a space to practice this ritual in the exact same way. Crystals are no different. At some point, or for some specific reason, people began to assign properties to crystals. More and more people believed in these properties, and because of it, they manifested those properties in their own realities.

It would be far more accurate to say I believe in the mind and ourselves as creators. I think that crystals are an easy method for us to focus our minds on manifesting what we seek for in these specific crystals. The mind on its own is powerful, but when you start adding in more and more people all creating the same belief, that brings so much power to that belief. On the flip side, we can impact other’s beliefs negatively if we strongly believe that things are not as they believe. Therefore, by saying, “no, crystals cannot heal you” not only do you make that true to yourself, but you would also be bringing that onto those believers.

I know within myself, I have to be careful about negatively impacting other people’s beliefs by sharing my own. Exerting your beliefs onto another is never the way, but at the same time, it is important to share ideas with one another to promote growth for everyone involved.

The last thought I wanted to mention – what happens with beliefs that are accepted unanimously. We are going down the rabbit hole with this one… ‘The sky is blue.’ Well, obviously the sky will always be blue because we have all decided that to be true. Is there anyone that can deny that the sky is blue? Even if someone came forth and said ‘I do not believe it.’, they would be one mind trying to convince people who have been taught and convinced their entire lives that the sky is blue. It would be near impossible. However, over time, if that belief spread, I wonder what that sky would look like.

Even if some of these ideas are crazy, it is important to be open minded. The best we can do for ourselves is to be neutral to a point of view that we don’t adopt to be our own.
