Today, I consciously met my spirit guide. I did so while listening to my Audible book – How to Communicate with Your Spirit Guides by Marie Manchehri. I have not done a lot in meditation. I have done so a few times, especially while listening to Sacred Acoustics (I’ll talk about this in a different post). In those meditations, when I would hit a point where I could tell I was deep into the meditation, a light would appear inside my eye lids. A bright white light in the darkness of my eye lids. Sometimes it would dance around, and my eyes would move to follow it. As soon as my eyes would move, it would be gone because I was no longer in my trance. I bring this up now, because it returns during this meditation that I will begin to describe.
So first, let’s talk about spirit guides. We are never alone in life, and we can thank our Spirit Guide for that. This guide is with us for our entire life, from birth to death. We have known this soul for multiple lifetimes and they know us deeply and intimately. They are usually higher beings that no longer incarnate on Earth, but they have done so before. It allows for them to understand our situation and know the need to always be there with us (and especially staying patient). They have been briefed on why we came to Earth for this lifetime and they know what we hope to learn. They help us on the other side to present challenges and opportunities for us to achieve those goals we seek. Since we also have free will, often times they could give us an opportunity that we decide to say no to. It’s okay, they are eternally patient and loving. They know when to stay back and when to come forward. It is very likely that you have more than one guide. However, you have one that will always be with you. The other guides come and go as you need them. These other guides specialize in things that you are trying to also learn, and they help teach you along the way. Family members that pass on are also guides. They stick with you until it is your time to move on. In many books, I hear the collective of your guides referred to as your “Team of Light”, and nothing could resonate more than this phrase.
Honestly, I know that I am grateful to my spirit guides, but I was skeptical that I would have the ability to meet my primary guide. I had tried before, but I also realized then that it was not my time to do so. I had a lot of growing to do first. Since I feel like I will always have growing to do, it seemed like maybe I’d never meet this guide.
I mentioned in my previous post that it was odd that I chose this book. I think in a way, it was my spirit guide helping me know that I am ready to begin this journey of inward discovery.
Okay, so now to describe my meditation. I’ll likely paraphrase what Marie’s voice told me to do, because honestly, I was focusing more on what was occurring in my mind:
M: Imagine yourself in a safe place.
My mind immediately went to my couch. Then I shifted a bit and started thinking about my childhood home. Finally, I went to my imagined ‘Dream Home’. My dream home is kind of silly, I picture it as a Roman house where there is a courtyard in the middle of the home. However, this house is way more modernized. Anyway, I was sitting in this courtyard. In the courtyard, there were plants sitting in pots and in the center was a 3ft tall crystal pyramid.
Later on, I realized that this place is somewhere I have built in my mind. Maybe this is my spiritual home even. It was definitely somewhere I felt very safe and happy to be in.
M: Imagine walking thru a door into a hallway
I passed thru an archway that led out into a field. It honestly looked a lot like my sister’s backyard at first, but then my modification was to turn the sky into a sci-fi dream. Giant celestial bodies close to the horizon and stars littered across the landscape. This was definitely not a hallway.
M: At the end of his hallway is another door.
At the end of the field was a forest, and in the entry of this forest was another archway completely made from branches entangled together.
M: As you go thru this door, you will enter into a round room.
I was in a clearing of the forest. It was an intentional clearing. There were stumps that stood out in a circle, as if this were a meeting ground.
M: There is a body of water nearby. Water is very important to communicate with your Spirit Guide.
In the center of these stumps I saw a pool of water. No more than 5ft in diameter.
M: Now go to the water and step through it
I went into the center of the pool, and imagined that the water was magical and did not get me wet at all. It just beaded off my skin.
M: Now someone comes to greet you. (I am done with her direction at this point, as I am now trying to have a moment with my spirit guide).
Immediately, I saw this white sphere of light in the center of my vision. Was this my spirit guide the whole time? I imagine it could be. I asked the sphere, does it prefer to be known as a man or woman. She said woman. I asked if I was on the right path. She said I already knew that I was. I asked if this would be my last life on Earth, she said no.
After those brief few questions, I could feel my analytical mind starting to come forward, and I could no longer trust that what was coming thru was my voice and not hers. So I started to wind down. I went back to my quiet place, per the direction, and then got ready to go to my day job.
I was very satisfied by my experience. I knew that my first meeting would be nothing huge, but meeting my guide was meaningful to me. Additionally, I was very happy to make the connection of my inner sanctuary and what my happy place looks like. I will need to think more on how this place came to be initially. Is it something I imagined, or is this what my spiritual home looks like?
I guess, I’ll have to find out by continuing these meditations.
