Flipside/ It’s a Wonderful Afterlife Vol. 1 by Richard Martini

These two books did not add a whole lot to what I already knew and understood about the other side. If I recall properly, Richard Martini was affected by a situation where a good friend passed away which led him on a journey similar to mine. He was writing all of his findings down and sharing them. So I think these books would be better for people that do not have much exposure to the other side.

There are two stories that I remember from these books that did have some impact on me. I will properly butcher these stories since I do not fully remember them, but I will give it a try.

In the first story, Richard visited a hypnotherapist and went to a place where he saw his good friend all in white teaching in a classroom. This imagery was either so familiar to me or it occurred with him in a few instances. When we are on the other side, most people see it as being all dressed in white and often gathering in groups similar to being in school. Learning from one another. For some reason, this brought comfort to me, as it resonated with me. Either way, this tied into an experience I had when my grandfather passed away. The last time I saw him and a few days before he passed, he was on morphine and having trouble staying awake. After sitting with him for a little while, Caitlyn and I decided to say our goodbyes and as I kissed his forehead he woke up and looked at Caitlyn and me, and said “Why aren’t you dressed in white? Everyone else is.” I felt like he gave me that experience to know that he would be okay and that he would be passing over soon.

The second story I remember is the story about when Richard’s son decided that he was going to choose Richard to be his parent. Richard did what some parents do with their children when trying to see if they “remember” the other side. Since children are living in a different brain state for the first 6 years of their life, they are more suggestible to say things or share past life memories that are often confirmed after further investigation. Either way, Richard asked his son (or was it daughter? lol), “When did you choose me to be your father?”. The child then explained a moment when he was on top of a mountain. Richard knew exactly the moment his child was talking about.

Overall the books were fine. They left me with some stories that were interesting, but I think after reading It’s a Wonderful Afterlife Vol. 1, I didn’t feel like I needed to continue since it was all stuff I was already familiar with. The book did a good job of suggesting other authors and books though. I think it is a good gateway book for people interested in understanding a little more about the otherside.
