I have found another way to make my life hectic. I am taking a class on Design Thinking and it has been great! It also is a fully discussion based class, so I have many great thoughts and paradoxes I recognize. I hope one day I can put more of those thoughts on here to keep track. However, in addition to a crazy few weeks at work, taking class, and preparing for the GMAT, I am pretty mentally fatigued. Either way, I took the time to post this on Linked-in, when it was planned to be a post here. So I am just doing the ol’ copy paste.

My Design Thinking course at Harvard Extension School inspired me to share thoughts I have on my personal development. Today, we learned about Innovation Frameworks, and I realized that I actually created my own framework a few weeks ago without realizing it.
I plotted all my education (past and planned future) to make this model – I call it my ‘Mind Temple’. It is a bit cheesy, but this is a high-level understanding of what I hope to manifest in my career/life and what I plan to develop to get there.
1. Communication. One person cannot provide the solution to everything. Helping get others to communicate their ideas is foundational. Education: Organizational Communication course
2. Understand how things work. Technical knowledge helps me know what is possible. Education: Mechanical Engineering
3. Understand how people work. The needs of people drive what is really important. Future: Behavioral Psychology coursework.
4. Understand how business works. Business creates the ‘game plan’ of how to create the most impact. Future: MBA or Business coursework.
5. Innovation. I seek growth and innovation is growth. Current: Grad Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship
If you have seen my resume you know I am proud of my Classics Minor… and that is why this is a temple.
