The Light Between Us by Laura Lynne Jackson

The books by Eben Alexander served as a crossroads to introduce me to many other books that speak on the subjects I was starting to delve. I know that there are many books out there that I say this about, but The Light Between Us really was a catalyst to opening my perceptions about the world. I think this book is what allowed me to recognize my connection with my dad even after his passing. It introduced me to the ways that loved ones still contact us. It was such powerful book that I even told my sister to read it and it started many great conversations between us recounting stories of how dad was still with us.

Laura Lynne Jackson is a psychic medium. Before I read this book, I was highly skeptical about mediumship, and not only that but I had a negative ‘Catholic’ connotation of what mediumship was. When you get told from a young age that it is the devil’s work, it’s not hard to develop an unnecessary stigma about it. Laura’s story however changed that stigma. Her story rewrote how I looked at the world as a whole. Her story showed me that love is the conquering force in that connects everything together.

What was her story? Well, from what I remember of the book (which stands out pretty clearly regardless of how long ago) it began as a skeptic in her own abilities. One day when she was in college, she had a dream that a close friend of hers was going to die. She did not want to believe in the dream, and so she didn’t until it came true. You’d think an experience like this would change someone, but for Laura it didn’t really. She continued on trying to suppress this part of herself that she didn’t want. I understood how much weight a gift like that could bring and I understood why she wanted to turn away from that life as much as she could.

I don’t remember her turning point, but once she accepted this gift people started to flock to her. She had so many incredible stories to share about loved ones returning with messages to their families and explanations for why they were no longer on earth. She gave me my first glimpses to the other side (and even defined it for me as the other side). She introduced me to the phrasing ‘team of light’ which is our own personal team that works with us on the other side to help us on our journey.

Additionally, she explained that we all have psychic potential and reinforced what I learned in Eben Alexander’s books. We all have the ability to connect with those that have passed on but we just have to be open to it. She explained the importance of signs and ways that we can communicate with our team of light to ensure we are on the right path.

As I was reading the book, there was still a part of my scientific mind that did not want to give credit to the many stories that proved to be true to her clients. I still resisted this notion of the paranormal until she told explained her induction into being a Windbridge Certified Research Medium. The goal of the Windbridge Research Center is to use mediumship to expand what we know of science. There are very few people that can qualify to be a certified medium because the screening process is so extensive. The part of the process that astounded me was when she did a double blind phone reading. In the reading, she is on the phone with someone that she does not know and that person doesn’t say a single word. Laura just let the information that needed to come thru from the other side and said what was presented to her. Afterwards, they hang up and the institute gets with that individual to score for accuracy what Laura said. I remember her scoring was in the high 90% accuracy which is absolutely nuts!

As a scientific mind, something like that is just not possible and not doable. Repetitive results that are highly accurate forced me a believer in mediumship. It caused me to question far more than I did previously. If this is legit, what else that I previously wrote off could be too? It surprises me that I never heard of the Windbridge Research center before this time. I’d think that something like this would become front page news. However, this was my first realization of the fact that science (like religion) often times ignores or pushes away things that it can’t explain or chooses not to. Laura Lynne, while having scientific proof in her own way that what she does is true and accurate will continue to be pushed away by scientist focusing on the material world. Additionally, regardless of the messages of Love and Hope that she gives that brings people together could easily be looked down upon by the largest religion.

I highly recommend this book to people that are curious about the other side. Whether that be for validation or to further understanding of how the world truly works. I have found no other author that can make me feel as connected to the other side as Laura Lynne Jackson.
